recent BSG updates: This was the first four player game (me matt rachel arif) and at first you could kind of tell because things weren't going as awfully as they normally seem to rachel was a real trooper going out and piloting vipers getting shot down going to sickback getting put right in a viper rinse repeat. I think this really made a huge difference in keeping the humans afloat. Matt was support and repaired some stuff and Arif tried to detect me as a cylon. TBH I made a decision/forgot what I had that raised the issue of my true loyalty early on in how I chose to deploy the nuke. So it seemed like I was a CYLON!!! but I wasn't. Actually nobody was at first until phase two. A mathematical deduction indicated who the CYLON!!! was and I sprang into action. I declared myself admiral president (mister) and was preparing to throw the CYLON!!! in the brig. But the brig throwing in place had been damaged ealier! Arif revealed as a CYLON!!! (knew it). We made good distance in our early jumps and the odds were one more jump would put us on a path toward not losing. But the odds determined otherwise and we had to make an additional jump. PIloting and executive orderings were had and crises were handled. As admiral I got to decide the destination for our hopefully second to last jump but alas they both caused the humans to run out of fuel and lose :( . I will say though that we managed not to get raided and I got to use my nukes. Moral victory! Whatever you ain't doin that shit again.
Next game: sympathizers and better decision making
And more paranoia
And more subtlety. I over played my skill cards and made it obvious who the cylon was but you couldn't stop me! :D
We never really had a lull in that game though cylons were constantly on our ass. We definitely needed to get some quorum cards to help restore some fuel after a jump. Jumping with 2 fuel left is not a good idea unless that gets you to Kobol. You guys didn't have a threat of sentinels boarding galactica so maybe jumping wasn't a good idea. You did have raiders breathing down your neck but Rachel was a maverick piloting those vipers!
</nerd>
I wish we had gotten the winters'ses on board with BSG earlier. I'm pretty sure after enough weekly games I would've crafted an Admiral Adama uniform out of duct tape and cardboard and encouraged you guys to do the same! Haha. I still think you guys can setup a laptop with a webcam and I could join from Florida! I'll just buy the game too so I can follow along. :D
Ok now </nerd>...oh who am I kidding there is no </nerd> tag! :)
Barb and I had the inaugural game if X-Wing. Barb had Darth Vader in a TIE Advanced and two TIE Fighters vs me with Luke Skywalker in an X-Wing and a rando Y-Wing. The whole game is based on a squad point system so with all things considered this is approximately an even match (allegedly). She freaking wiped me out. Apparently the whole story would be a lot different if it had been Emporer Barbitine instead. I managed like one wimpy hit against each of her ships but my guys just got shot over and over and died. Geez. Pretty fun though.
I can't wait for the combo BSG-Asshat throwdown this Friday. It's gonna be Xtreme to say the least.
5 people 2 cylons 1 sympathizer ? asshats
GAME ON
the recent game of bsg started out pretty good for the humans there were seemingly 5 of them and by the midpoint resources were still above half and there were no immediate threats it seemed there were no cylons but everyone was full aware that this tranquility only meant more concentrated mayhem and despair would be soon approaching rachel turned out to be a sympathizer and since the resources were above half that means she essentially became a CYLON!!!! she was reluctant at first but she soon accepted her new role with enthusiasm and vigor david clearly implicated himself as a CYLON!!! by ordering rachel to rain destruction upon the poor battlestar a devestating and effective move and things started to decline pretty steeply the humans were able to place david in the brig and minimize his cylonery but hard choices had to be made eventually the humans were overwhelmed and lost the entire population at the very end i revealed that i was a secret CYLON!!! the whole time!! it was only then that barb and matt realized how alone they were
turns out the ordering rachel to launch all the cylons was against the rules but it was a move made in good faith so i wasn't too bothered by it you aint doin that shit again though
