409 game night
Well I was 95% barbie was a cylon but she was in sick bay for 3 rounds so I felt bad. For future reference: no mercy for suspected cyclons because things spin out of control pretty fast.
I was rolling to save the game and actually got a 7 the first time but got a 5 the second. Unfortunately we used our only roll modifier on the first roll. So no epic roll to prolong the game for 2 hours. I was kind of hoping I was the cylon as gaius baltar bc then I could look at someone's loyalty cards at the beginning and put the other person in the brig. Just to keep things interesting.
Oh well. GG.
New rule: keep barbie in sick bay every round for gloating.
so the first few games of settlers of catan between me and barb have varied widely in the results the first game she beat me 10-4 the next two games were close and our most recent game she won at the very end some pretty intense moments but at no time did she ever manage to steal my nuke...finally
round 3 civilization synopsis: arif's germans vs barbie's americans vs my egyptians my egyptians got a pretty big bonus straight out of the gate in the form of some increased trade i had to move quickly to overcome being completely cut off by a river that put me in my little corner german militarization was steady during the whole game but the rapidly expanding egyptians soon turned extra resources towards the military this resulted in at least two epic battles between the germans and the egyptians which had significant impacts in the momentum of the game the germans had some issues trying to settle their third city and ended up settling right near the egyptian capital which resulted in a failed attempt by the egyptians to destroy the newly founded german city the americans didn't even settle a third city for the entire game a final battle between the germans and the egyptians would determine if the germans recieved the last piece of gold needed for an economic victory or if the egyptians would continue their step by step technological advancement towards a space flight victory the battle went to the egyptians and the next turn would see the launch of an egyptian space shuttle but before that the americans achieved cultural victory the germans and egyptians completely neglecting any sort of cultural efforts sneaky and effective but the real victor was the one remaining barbarian tribe that stayed near the americans for the entire game just holding onto the one nuke that was available this game where do these barbarians keep getting these nukes?

X-Wing Miniatures Game - Players 2 Play time 1 hour Medium-steep learning curve
It's a tabletop game and you can define the playing area differently each time. You maneuver either your rebel or imperial ships and until you pew pew pew at each other. Bro-in-law provided 2 core sets (1 x-wing and 2 tie fighters each) and a Y-wing and a tie advanced. Should be able to nerd out pretty hard to this.
Settlers updates: got the Cities & Knights expansion for the main game and also Star Trek of Catan which is pretty much regular Settlers with some original Star Trek polish and a new main character mechanic
I need to be in atlanta Jan 28th and 29th so I'm going to drive up the friday/saturday before. I'll probably stay until the following saturday and or sunday. We should set up a game night while I'm in town. :)
i was talking up BSG to the winter clan and i got a feeling one of them might be a CYLON!!!... maybe on saturday evening 26th?

And just for the record the show that was mentioned in Big Bang Theory was Babylon 5 not BSG. I mis-remembered.
