It took me 3 hours to figure out that iTunes and ipods are ridiculous.
They have a character limit on source file names.
OMFG that's bullshit.
Good to know someone told me that before I added/deleted songs 15+ times.

character limit as in you have files like "This is a compilation of a number of different artists playing the following songs as a medley - Jingle Bell Rock Santa Claus is Cumming on Grandma's Red Nosed Manger The Batman Theme Song and the entire career of Rockapella" ? Or is it just your crazy asian music with its crazy asian characters?

A little bit o' both actually. Files with long artist's name and song title. And Crazy asian music sans the crazy asian characters. Luckily I have a program that does mass renaming. Fuckin' apple.

man i rebooted it the other day but it looks like i'm gunna have to go in there again. I ordered a new hard drive for my old Dell machine so i'm thinking of turning that into the new image server.
I would have used it before but the hard drive is kinda loud in the dell. the current machine is loud but i figured i'd wait for the new quietness.

yeah so the image server is back up for now. the power light no longer remains on even when the computer is on.. but at least it's happily serving images.
