I got a thing in the mail today that said they would be doing some work on the electricity that would cause an outage.. today. I guess they weren't kidding. and i'm not going back to my apartment before I fly to Baton Rouge so i guess we wont have an img server until sunday night.

never tried it but i've heard it wont work due to the quality of power the battery supplies or some such nonsense

yeah the daisy chaining on the UPS is a no-go unless they're really high end. most battery backups create some sort of approximated sine wave current when they're on battery power. the second UPS sees that modified wave as some sort of anomaly and rejects the current instead providing its own. i think there are some more expensive backups that use a true sine wave so those *should* work but that would become an expensive experiment.
