Not to end this thread prematurely but I'm currently idling in my work car at 4 mph on Hwy 82 in south GA, most mundane thing ever?

What does it mean to achieve peak mundanity? Does that paradoxically disqualify it from being mundane? Did you just play yourself?
I'm awake right now because I got an automated phone call from work because an app is running behind. This app had some problems which had 2 devs online Saturday, busy deploying a hotfix, and they knew it would be behind. But instead of disabling the alert for some period of time like a normal person, they posted a chat message in the team chatroom saying "hey guys you might see alerts while this catches up" -- ya think? So now a third dev (me) is awake making sure nothing is broken.

i replaced the ceiling fan/light in the living room today, prior owners here had it set up on some sort of remote control which they wired up weird because on the 3 wall switches that control that fixture i had to try to make a condition matrix [UUU,UUD, UDD,....etc] to try to figure out how the fan and light would behave in response to the remote and pull chain tugs, i wrote everything down and discovered a few consistencies but otherwise i was still confused, luckily my mother-in-law hulked out on the pull chain and tore it right out so that was the excuse to get a new fan, i wasn't sure what i was going to find when i disconnected the old one, but i got it wired up and now switches 1 and 3 control the fan and 2 controls the light and the pull chains behave as expected, one less mystery electrical situation in my house

In what universe do you need to control a fan from 2 places, but the associated light from only 1? Or are you still using the remote for the light, so you don't really need a 2nd switch for that?

That would be the universe where I wasn't sure which wires went to what switch and I already took it apart twice to rewire it and I ain't doing it again so how it is is how it's going to be
The remote went with a little controller module that was tucked in the junction box, but I yanked that out because it would spaz out occasionally maybe due to some stray RF, it was another factor in getting the whole setup replaced

New feature: To change the fan speed, just update the Xbox over wifi while running the microwave
