Boring story of the day: Early December I noticed a company called NetOnTheRun was offering T-Mobile cell plans for $45 flat for unlimited t/t/web 5 gb lte and data rollover. I'd been bumping into my 1 gb limit from T-Mobile directly and paying more so I was like sure. They were also offering a $100 Amazon gift card when you signed up for auto pay sweet in for two. They say they can port over any phone number except one from a T-Mobile post-pay plan which is what I have. So gonna need to do some footwork. Meanwhile Barbie is out of state and drops her phone in water and now it's dead so she goes and buys a boost mobile flip phone for like $30 to cover the gap. So to port a number you need the account number and pin. When she gets back we have boost mobile port her T-Mobile number there. NOTR sends the SIM cards with temp numbers and we port her number to NOTR from the boost account and put her SIM in my old galaxy phone. So now I need to do the same. Call boost and port my number from T-Mobile to barber's now vacant flip phone. The boost rep says the account won't be valid until I have a boost plan $10 minimum. I tell the rep I'll have to think about it before signing up. I call boost the next day prepared to spend $10 for the privilege of keeping my same phone number. Get a rep on the line and I'm first like can I get my account and pin and the rep is like yeah it's xxxxx xxx and I'm like kthxbi and hang up. I give the numbers to NOTR and a couple days later they're like success and I plug their SIM into my phone. Got the bill and notification that if I auto pay for 4 months they'll be sending both $100 gift cards. Once I've met that term I'll be suspending Barbie's account while she's out of country. Then when she gets back we'll reactivate her line and get her a hawt phone on eBay or Amazon and then we'll be cell phone masters the end.

boring story update: i think netontherun oversold the amazon gift card promotion because they just offered in exchange for the $100 amazon gift card they'll give me 3 months service free ($135 worth) for both lines sweet

Avoid: cheapprices.com Booked a multi destination trip and get an email that one of the flights had been cancelled hours on hold promised call backs that never happen until finally they say book a new flight for that leg at my own expense and try to get the airline to reimburse me told capital one the story and they agreed to dispute the charge for the whole itinerary so I have to wait and see if that goes through then book a new itinerary which is going to cost more >:( also they apparently contract their reservations through orbitz because that's how they identified themselves cap1 coming through though so kudos

update: a few days after the previous post they said they had booked a new flight from tokyo to beijing but then i got an email today saying the itenerary was changed so now it goes ATL->SEOUL->SEOUL->TOKYO->swim maybe????->BEIJING->MANILA->MANILA->CEBU->SEOUL->SEOUL->ATL
