Drive - Watched this on Netflix last night. Actually very little driving and it's not very fancy driving at that. I mean the second (and last) "chase scene" didn't even make sense based on what cars were involved. Hmm Chrysler 300 vs 5.0 Mustang sure whatever. But the whole movie has this weird tempo like all the actors directors cameramen and editors were passing around the same prescription meds the whole time. The whole thing feels like it's zonked out. Remember that one dude that was in taekwondo that was on painkillers the whole time but could kick really high? It's like he made the movie. Then there's little bits of brutal violence that start showing up about halfway in. They were kind of harshing my mellow to be honest. 2.5 out of 5 big ol Ron Perlman faces on a 55 in. TV. Jarring...
Watched Ip Man last night. It's a little slow moving but the story is interesing and the fight scenes are pretty badass. 4/5 240 degrees forced split. <---- that one made me cringe.
Safety not Guaranteed - It's billed as a comedy and yeah sure there's some funny moments but the thing I liked about it was that everyone pretty much acted like a human being. There was sarcastic girl single-minded guy almost a douche indian kid and chloe. Nobody was grating on screen or set up for cheap jokes. I liked the way they all interacted and their motivations and developments seemed genuine. The very last part is weird and I might would've done something different. 4 out of 5 zither panty droppers.
Why must you all antagonize me?
Because it's easier than mac 'n cheese! :)
Iron Man 3 - Mild SPOILERS Really nobody knows where Tony Stark's beachside mansion is beforehand? Also pretty sure all of the Iron Mens should have some sort of ranged weaponry. Not sure why he would insist on wrestling bad guys whose only power is getting really hot and burning up your suit. He just felt gimped the whole movie. Props for the PTSD angle though. 2.5 out of 5 guilt trip immunities.
