True Grit: For those of you who don't know it's a remake of one of John Wayne's last movies of the same name. The original is best viewed as a compelling capstone on his career. There really isn't much to improve on and this is evident in the many similarities. Some of the dialog is word for word but they may be emphasized differently. The story is unaltered until the last 15 minutes. Honestly I preferred the ending of the original but I can understand why they shied away from it for the simple fact that Jeff Bridges is not John Wayne. Jeff Bridges was enjoyable as always. I would say if viewed independently the new True Grit is one of the best westerns in existence. The characters are larger than life but are still somehow believable. The environment is very absorbing and there is something to be said for a world in which even the robbers and murderers use proper English. 4.5 out of 5 contractions.

They're both from a book another reason why you might find uncanny similarities in dialogue.

The Black Swan: 4 out 5 ripped fingernails. This movie is absolutely terrifying but on the bright side you get to see two girls in a nice lesbian scene.

Anyone down for tangled tomorrow afternoon at movie tavern?  Apparently they don't play tangled at night.  Btw Grant I don't see it available in 3D unless it's only in 3D.

edit:  The only place that still has it in 3D is in Kennesaw and I don't feel like driving that far.

edit2:  I might could be convinced to go to the 9am show so we could checkout the unlimited flapjacks deal.  I wonder if it's like a brazilian steak house where you can leave your tab green and they keep bringing the meat.  mmmm anyone down for fogo? haha

omg way to ruin the ENTIRE MOVIE with that review.  how dare you share the genre and the fact that it includes chainsaws?!  I thought Winter's Bone was an inspiring tale of matt's battle with chronic priapism (ICD9 607.3).  :P
