The PSU i'm buying is also SLI compliant...what does that mean anyways? I understand that the mobo would need to support SLI but I don't get why/how the PSU is SLI compliant. Any ideas?

well the reason the viewsonic has a better refresh rate is cause its only 6bit. i'm pretty sure the fastest 8bits are "only" 8ms but i havent noticed any ghosting at all with my benq.
SLI compliant means it can handle the extra load of an SLI rig. having two vid cards puts extra strain on the PSU and they have to be certified to handle the power consumption to ensure proper operation

I figured AMD would be coming out with a true quad-core soon...but they don't have it now. I don't want to buy a mobo only to find out that it won't work with the new quad-cores (A BIOS Flash might allow for this but there is still uncertainty).
Yeah newegg doesn't have any 8bit monitors with less than 8ms refresh rate. Thanks for the help. I'm going with the BenQ. :D

my friend got 2 of them after i recommended them to him and he plays WoW 24x7 so i'm sure i would've heard bitching and complaining from him by now if they had any ghosting issues :P

As Matt put it "It's already been boughten" Thanks for the input! I'm not a super picky guy (you can't be when you still play generals on a Compaq mobo P4 1.7 Ghz CPU 512 MB DDR RAM and Geforce4 128 MB GPU rig with a 19'' CRT) so you won't be hearing any complaints out of me. :D Would my old system be an upgrade for the image server though? It'll need a HD but I'm more than happy to donate it to the cause.

for great justice! hot diggity i'm excited for you. with the stuff you listed i'm pretty darn sure it would be a substantial upgrade for the image server. perhaps i'll just move the current HD into your box and see if it still works :)

Yeah that's what I figured. Are either you or rach gonna be in Melbourne on the 1st? I can swing by on my way to ATL. If not maybe I can convince my older sister to stop by and pick it up when she's driving up to ATL (some time between mid and late Jan). Ooorr we can make the exchange whenever we decide to rondayvu (i throw hotdog water and hamburger grease at the french and their bogus spelling. Rendezvous? Why do we endure such perversity and illogicality?) in Thomasville.

I'ma be in baton rouge followed by las vegas shortly thereafter. Rachel's in orlando doin the Disney World thing but tomorrow she will indeed be in Melbourne (unless those crazy kids decide to take a road trip).
