Alan Wake - Just finished this. The one thing you have to admire is the craftsmanship of the game. The graphics and production are all way top notch. The whole thing was just a little bit dull. It's a survivor/horror type game and it has some really good moments where shadowy figures you think you saw cross the window outside or you're busy collecting coffee and wait do I hear footsteOHSHHIT! moments. But after a while I got tired of running through the woods killing bad guys. The story takes heavily from Stephen King and so if you like that sort if thing it would be great for you I never thought it was that interesting. But the characters were interesting and the more lighthearted section about 2/3 of the way through it was really good. Main point is though it's superbly made. 3.5 out of 5 pretty great classical rock type songs. Actually meant to mention that song in the review. The music up to that point in the game was orchestral and atmospheric so that song made a really cool change in texture.

HumbleBundle -- pay what you want for a bundle of some pretty cool looking games. also

"All games in this Humble Bundle work on Android Windows Mac OS X and GNU/Linux."

you can choose where the money goes -- split any way you want among developers charity and the humble bundle co. itself.

I'll probably buy it for android and/or linux when i get home :)

Also this isn't the first bundle they've done. it's an ongoing thing and it's exciting for linux nerds because some really cool games are actually being made that support linux :)

Are all of these games available on the android market?  If so why do you need to enable unsupported apps?  I already have this enabled because google pulled all emulators from the market so the developer posted the apps on his site.  I really wanted to beat legend of zelda (maybe for the first time?) so I enabled unsupported apps and downloaded it.  I got to Gannon's level when I bought Skyrim and my life got flip-turned upside down.  I'd like to take a minute just sit right there and tell you all about my adventures of becoming a dragon-slayer but my fresh digression has already gone on too long.

Anyways having to enable unsupported apps won't really deter me just curious as to why it's required.  I guess you don't download the bundled apps from the market so I suppose that makes sense.  World of Goo is definitely fun with smooth graphics and game play but I wasn't going to pay $5 for it.  Maybe ~$6 bucks for 4 games is worth it. :)

I believe they are not on the market (with the exception of world of goo). Android market doesn't really support the whole "pay what you think it's worth" plan other than releasing the games for free and then asking for donations.

I played Osmos last night and this morning and it's been pretty fun. the soundtrack is nice and chill and some of the strategic parts of the game make you sit and wait and watch things happen (that you set into motion) but in a good relaxing way. I don't know how it'll translate to the handheld platform; i assume the controls will be quite different.

edit: I stand corrected.. just searched for Osmos in the market and it's there. it's also $5 which makes the bundle look like an even better deal (assuming you were willing to spend a few bucks on any one of the games).
