I just got a call today from Chase Bank saying that an account had been opened in my name and they suspected I was a victim of identity theft. I went and checked my credit report and sure enough someone had opened an account and charged about $8000 to it. I'm giving props to Chase for catching it because it hasn't actually done any damage and looks like it might be fixable before any major damage is done. Just a reminder that y'all should actually check your credit reports and make sure nobody's doing the same to you

Thats interesting Steven because I just found out Sunday night that someone had taken out a credit card in my name as well. I checked the mail Sunday and had received two new credit cards. One with my name on it and one with another girl's name Brandy Adcock. Apparently she got my SSN and address and tried to balance transfer $5900 to the new credit card. However since the credit card only had a limit of $1500 Citibank didn' t allow it to go through. You would think that Citibank would have notified me of this without me having to find out after calling them about their credit card that was issued to me. Long story short they canceled the account and told me to file a police report which I have yet to do.
I keep a pretty good watch over my two credit cards and nothing else seems suspicious so I think I am ok now.
I wonder if 409 has been compromised.

i can only assume you mean "409 the group of people" and not "409 the website" because we obviously don't store any credit cards or SSN's. I've been trying to get my annual credit reports but the three credit bureaus are pretty gay and make it harder than it should be. maybe i'll sign up for the 30-day trial Bank of America identity protection and get it that way.. i dunno.
