I've complained about the intonation of a news anchor in the past and I finally found her (Susan Hendricks):

  • -0:54:  commON
  • -0:43: pain "probLEMS"  (this one drives me nuts!! I don't even know why but it's the sound that makes me want to punch babies!

Her tonal increase when she says "prob-" followed by a further increase on "-LEMS" DRIVES ME CRAZY!  And she does it all the tiME!  I guess it's similar to a questioning tone but slightly different and used to indicate that she has more to sAY but instead it makes me want to punch babies! 

I was in my room watching Inuyasha while my mom was watching the news in the next room.  I watched 3 or 4 episodes without ever noticing but then I heard the sound of nails dragging across a chalkboard in the form of her segment!  Damn you Susan and your wretched intonation *shakes fist angrily*

To make it worse he has a twin Fletcher Mackel but strangely his speech is much more normal
