OneSync -- Drew I know you were looking for an external HD sync application a while back and I dont know if you ever came up with an acceptable solution but here's another piece of software that may be worth a try.

If we hadn't already heavily invested ourselves in our own custom Moneys app it looks like EasyRoomin would be a good way to go for handling shared expenses.
