A bunch of us were hanging out 20 years ago and I can't remember where but maybe it was the cruise, anyways we went to a hypnosis show and the white lady was yelling about chicken selects for her imaginary McDonald's order and maybe getting a little racist with the guy, y'all remember that one?
Me and Barbie were talking brains and the reason it came up was because I recall Veronica was summoned up on stage but then dismissed by the hypnosis guy after his assessment or whatever, Veronica do you remember what he did? I remember you sitting in a chair on the stage for a second, but my question is how did he determine to dismiss Veronica, unless it was a ploy to add legitimacy to the chicken selects lady who in this scenario is a plant for the performer

Ya definitely from the cruise. As I recall he went down the line and just vibe checked all the volunteers, looking for nonverbal cues of compliance and whatnot.

It’s like jazz, you either get it or you don’t. The hypnosis is just a ploy to give you a green light to act a fool. But if you’re a skeptic and wait for a real hypnosis, you get the boot! I don’t really remember any of the show after V got the boot, but I do remember running into another one of the hypnosisees and asking him about what it felt like. He admitted that nothing happened, but he played along. Also, I recall tearing my pants on the dance floor one of the nights, but lucky for me, we were on a cruise, so I just walked back to the room and changed, lol.
I’m trying to remember freshman year prior to that outing at hard rock? I remember talking to anjuli and Rachel, and one of their roommates/floormates who was convinced she could guess the part of India I was from based on my name. lol, I don’t remember her name, but I definitely remember that gusto.
Anyways, I’m trying to remember when we all started to click, but that outing was a very early and memorable moment.

I remember being called onto the stage for the hypnosis thing. They started with an almost relaxation/meditation type technique that was indeed very relaxing. When he went down the line I think he may have asked me a question really quiet. Don’t remember the question, but I think bc I was conscious enough to answer that likely eliminated me. If it was just some kind of vibe check, then he was right that I probably wouldn’t have played along very well.

I second the Hard Rock Cafe and I also seem to recall playing cards one night (maybe after that) downstairs in one of the dorms as one of my first memories of freshman year. I also recall how much smoke was in Ben’s room. People don’t seem to believe me when I say you could smoke cigarettes in your room in our freshman dorm.

Yeah, we were playing spoons I believe. That space on the first floor was pretty nice, I wonder why we didn’t go back more often. I suppose the floor on 3rd floor was just closer, haha. So many good times! Now I wanna play a round of oh hell.
Another core memory: “Someone threw shit on me!” Bwahaha! I can still see dirty sanchez walking around with his towel barely on his body, searching for the culprit, but I couldn’t tell you a damn thing I learned in class that year. Thanks brain!
