It's been a while since I've made a new thread and this didn't really fit anywhere else so ITT talk about anything anime. :O In the past few months I've watched these:
I just finished Death Note and it's actually pretty intense and fun to watch. The whole series is basically one big mind game that's addicting. You can catch most of these on Hulu or animefreak.tv.
Any recommendations?
edit: Ftr there's no RTE on thread creation (at least in IE9)
I've just started the Last Exile. Story hasn't been that compelling yet but the art is pretty amazing.
Yeah that seemed to be the case with Kenshin and Inuyasha too. I feel like most series that are 100+ episodes have a lot of filler that don't really add to the overall series. Sometimes it'll give insight into the character or highlight a change in personality but for the most part it's pointless garbage.
Started watching Bleach yesterday which started off kind of shallow but is getting better. It's 15 seasons long though so I doubt I'll probably watch the first season and see if it's worth it.
The Loituma Girl is Orihimi Inoue from Bleach:
Leekspin go! Just before these two scenes this girl is hit by a car lol.
The first 3 seasons of bleach are pretty awesome. The first episode sums up the balance of sillyness and seriousness for the series which is pretty similar to Kenshin. The OST is pretty solid and has some really amazing songs.
There are very few episodes that just feel like filler but the series does get a little repetitive especially in the later seasons. They use the sword fight showdown cliche at least a half dozen times (where both characters charge at each other for one final attack and stand with backs to each other afterwards. the hero collapses first but the villain is the one that takes the fatal blow) but a lot of the fights are intense.
Bleach is based on a manga by Tite Kobe that is still in the works and a few times the animated series caught up to the manga so they had to create filler episodes and even a few filler seasons to give Kobe to develop the story. For example season 8 ends in the middle of a major battle / story arc and then season 9 starts a complete alternative arc. wtf? I just skipped the seasons that didn't go with the main story arc but unfortunately I've caught up with the series. so now I'm going back and watching all those alternative seasons which are entertaining in their own right but frustrating to watch when you want to know what happens in the main arc. :)
I'd highly recommend it though.
look what you anime freaks did! i hope you're happy!
