France v. Ireland last week = ridiculous. For those who do not know the french tied ireland 1-1 but the goal the french scored the guy touched the ball with his hand. This means that France is going to the world cup and not Ireland. oops. Needless to say Ireland is furious. Even politicians are discussing/arguing about it.

I didn't see the France goal but everyone I've talked to said it was pretty obvious that he used his hand to alter the balls path so it'd be in a better position for striking. now there's discussion about adding video review to the game. I think it makes since to review controversial goals at least since there's a stoppage in play anyways and any review time could be tacked on to injury time.
