I have no idea, although I’m pretty sure they voided the warranty on those reactors. My best guess is that the odds of a major radiation release are pretty small. The VVER is actually a pretty good reactor design with solid safety features, so a Chernobyl-type event is unlikely. The containment buildings on most reactors are built to withstand a direct hit from a large airplane, so I think it would take a pretty substantial escalation of the size of explosives getting tossed at it to cause a major incident (other than making the reactors inoperable, which seems to be the primary goal). Then again, the reactors I typically deal with don’t have any explosives at all launched at them, so maybe my assessment of the risk isn’t accurate.
