Logan has his 529 well underway for an 8 month old. Mom started me on my Roth IRA when I was in highschool so that puppy has been simmering for years (thanks Mom!). As far as current contributions go after we pay off a few long-standing 0% interest expenses the budget will be freed up a little more to pay for future Matt's vacations instead of the air conditioner in Roswell.

Also now the list of chronic ailments I hope to contract expands to include "shitting cash."

My conservative sandwich-based portfolio is performing nicely.

Funny story Shawn that mobile home park was shut down by the City and is now empty land.  Apparently the City didn't like that the only source of crime came from said trailer park so they changed zoning regs which made it impossible for the park to stay.

hahah always weird to remember that a person designed the sidewalk

also the more interesting graph (not that i know how to make one) is the difference in potential lifetime earnings with the max-percent set-n-ferget style versus auto maximizer.  just to show the price of laziness.

I heard some study that found that the best performing portfolios were from people who had died and just let them run for decades without touching anything.

The more I learn (since it's my job) I definitely lean towards set and forget. You can do some rebalancing here and there but you may just be rebalancing more money into crappy stuff so it can be better just keep your trading and decisions to a minimum.

we're upping our roth IRA contribution can't quite max it out but maybe but i'm also nervous because i'm convinced the market gains are primarily on paper due to money printing

also i found matt's epitaph: "So basically this was an intellectually stimulating complete waste of time."

I think that would accurately sum up the majority of things. I like it let's get it chisel'd.
