Alright you knuckleheads I know one of you knows how to do this.
I want to be able to mount a file system on a computer that I'm accessing using SSH. I'm working on (and from) a variety of platforms so it would be best if this were OS-independent.
First one to come up with a viable solution will have a quick and painless death when the revolution comes. The rest of you will have to suffer like everyone else.

You should look up
SFS.. it was described on
this mailing list as "NFS over SSH" which is pretty much what you want. I dont know if you'll be able to install a new filesystem on whatever computers you're using but it's worth a shot.

does anyone know of a decent (and free) x-server that i could get access to? it looks like OIT distributes one called OSF/Motif and i think that there is also one distributed with Cygwin. does anyone have any experience with either of these or have any recommendations on others? i've only used x-win before but i can't get access to a free copy of that.
