Bahahaha! Matt that was perfect!
the line "Modern software barely works when the hardware is correct" struck me and i'm like why does it always have to be that way and if some pioneer were to think differently the whole world would be full of puppies and free beer like maybe Jobs was trying to get there but mac software locks up plenty too
One of the major factors is how long it takes to get it Right given the complexity of the end product you're trying to ship. If Microsoft had kept at it they might have perfected Windows 95 by now (j/k that's a bad example) but instead they had to keep moving forward with new features like transparent title bars.
.. the Linux kernel is a much better example. Granted it's not exclusively a "make existing features better" kind of project because there's all kinds of new stuff added all the time.. but a large portion of the development that goes into it focuses on improvement and correctness and puppies. Eventually Linux will be perfect (for some reasonable approximation of perfect) because it never has to "ship" to avoid being shitcanned.
coolest WWI map

fixed the link for you. And that is a pretty cool map especially because it comes with a description / explanation for each country's depiction.
Do you guys ever take those silly online quizzes people on Facebook seem to love so much? Don't. They're a waste of time. But I took the dumb quiz of all dumb quizzes: "What arbitrary thing are you?" And I kid you not one of the questions was "which word do you hate the most?" And one of the choices was "panties"! I almost peed mine!
