Summary: Game publishers are upset because the second-hand game market isn't getting them any money. Sony has a patent with the ps3 so that a game disc only works with the first ps3 it's used in. You don't own the game; you own a license to play it. I.E. you couldn't take your game and use it on someone else's ps3. But Sony is pretty good about consumer rights so I don't think they'll actually use it.
