SUBJECT: NOTICE of RECENT CHANGES to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Important changes have been made to the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) that require Harris as a U.S. Government contractor to notify its employees of the following:
FAR Section 22.1705 now requires that all U.S. Government contracts and solicitations contain FAR Clause 52.222-50 “Combating Trafficking in Personsâ€Â. Pursuant to the clause all Harris employees involved both directly and indirectly with U.S. Government contracts including U.S. Government contracts performed outside of the United States are hereby notified that:
The United States Government has adopted a zero tolerance policy regarding trafficking in persons. Accordingly Harris employees shall not--
(1) Engage in any form of trafficking in persons during the period of performance of the contract;
(2) Procure commercial sex acts during the period of performance of the contract; or
(3) Use forced labor in the performance of the contract.
Furthermore employees are hereby notified that the actions taken for violations of this policy may include but are not limited to removal from the contract reduction in benefits or termination of employment.The full texts of FAR Section 22.1705 and FAR Clause 52.222-50 are available online at
