What did I just say? I'm looking forward to the action. Think about the last time you saw something come out of Hollywood with:
a) action
b) an appreciable plot

It usually doesn't happen. The closest thing that comes to mind is Charlize Theron starring in North Country and Aeon Flux in the same year. So can it Ebert. If I wanted amateur film critique I'd follow your rotton tomatoes link.

In deciding whether to watch King Arthur or Equilibrium on TV the fact that King Arthur contains yurt-dwelling warriors almost outweighed the fact that I hate bad Arthurian stories.

I think taken as a whole (series + movie) that Serenity/Firefly meets both criterion of action and plot.

so i went and saw Ultraviolet today despite the reviews. unfortunately they were right :(

it was about 99% action 1% plot... and that 1% wasnt explained well or thoroughly so you mainly have to sit there with your eyes glazed over and stare at the purty pictures. i think i would've gotten about just as much out of it if it had no dialogue and just a music/sfx track.

but it did have one saving grace: the gratuitous milla ass shot as she walked down a tunnel bucknaked :)
