That start and finish are getting kinda far away from each other might want to get that checked out

Also to cross reference the awful words thread just for fun: torsion

I've officially completed the floppy dong circuit!  First 5k in a while.  Felt pretty good though.  I have cut my mile time down to 7:40 too, down from 8:27 back on Jan 14th, w00t!

That’s awesome acelxix! Let’s pick a 5k near you and all make a road trip down to run/walk it.

We should do a Disney star wars 5k when they start doing them IRL again!
Finished the mile in 7:31.  Let's see if I can get to sub-7minutes by May.

So it turns out my 5k run was good for the Move Your Body & Mind Virtual Race that earns you 15% off asics shoes, w00t!  You can see my place here. Currently 59th out of the 200+ submissions.  Not bad for just a random run.  The discount will be helpful since I probably need to get some new shoes with all this running.

I don't know if this will help but I learned in the academy about 20% of my running performance was mental, because being so broke I didn't even carry around a wallet anymore meant I needed a job and running well was part of the job for that time period, so like when I ran my fastest mile I'll ever run ever with V that one time, I remember I actually thought I started with my pace too fast, but I was mentally tough enough to run that fast out of spite and imagining I was going to lose my job and I'd have to couch surf again and Shawn would fleece me for rent again

Oh definitely.  You have to establish some physical ability, which I've mainly done now, just have to convince my mind that I'm not really exhausted and that my muscles aren't really tired yet.  While running sometimes I imagine a ravenous dog was behind me, but then I rationalize that I'd go into fight mode 'cuz there ain't no way I'm out running that damn thing...

My right knee has started swelling a little, so that's another factor.  I rested one day, but then did a 2 miler the next, and another 5k the day after.  Thankfully it's not really swollen this morning.

I typically have gas left at the end of the mile, so I just need to figure out how to convince myself to burn that fuel faster.  Maybe some more realistic mental gymnastics.  Like the kids are in a burning building and I have to get back to save them.  Or I accidentally texted "yellow submarine" to Drew and my phone just died, so I have to get back to plug in to convince you not to wipe my porn server!
