I got a phone call not the "official" correspondence that will be arriving some time this week. I'm supposed to have two weeks to respond once I've been notified.

Sample Repayment - $130000 Federal Stafford Loan
At current interest rate (6.8% fixed):
$1878/month $225351 total repayment ($95351 interest cost)
Assumptions:
4 yrs of medical school 3 yrs of residency 6 months grace period 2.5 yrs economic hardship deferment interest capitalization one time 3 yrs after graduation no voluntary or early payments no borrower benefits standard 10 yr repayment
... What have we done?
