On August 21, 2017, around 2:30pm EDT, the path of the totality passes within a 1 hour drive of our house. It looks like I'll be spending the afternoon at a Wendy's on I-75.
I ordered some eclipse glasses (a 15 pack, because why not). Anyone else interested? The next one occurs in 2024, but it won't be as close.

I'll probably pass this year, but we should have a party in Orlando in 2045! :D

For the 2045 eclipse, Orlando will be in total eclipse for almost 6 minutes!

Seems like a pretty legit reason to take half a day off work.

Shawn asked me today what my eclipse plans were, so I decided to bump this thread and see what everyone else was doing on Monday.

The Wendy's plan might be a bust, just because it's right next to the interstate.. The OMGECLIPSE frenzy that has erupted makes me think that traffic on 75 is going to be a zoo.

Maybe I'll try to find something a bit off the beaten path.

Just spitballin' here

Dayton, TN is home of Bryan College and will have ~17 fewer seconds of totality that my original Wendy's destination.

We're going to be in Maine, so pretty much the furthest (in the continental US) you can be from totality...doh! :(
