I called wildwater today (800-451-9972) to find out what slots are available.  I asked for June 4th since that seems to be the best weekend for me.  The 12 and 1pm time slots are booked for middle ocoee.  We'd need to book for the 9:30 or the 3 but there are 54 spots available for each time slot and only 7 and 4 people has reserved spots for those times so we should be ok but I think we should book soon.

Also we need to decide if we want to do middle or upper and middle (For upper+middle there is an 8:30 and a 12:30). Apparently just upper is not available that weekend or prior to May 28th.  We'd have to pay for an upgrade for both but the lady didn't know how much that would cost.  Each leg takes about 2 hours with a snack break in between if we decide to do both.  I asked for a recommendation and she said that if it's your first time the middle is a good experience.  The upper is apparently used in the Olympics.  She said the rapids on the upper leg are harder by a + but are more spread out so you get some minibreaks in between.  The middle leg is a little easier but have more back to back rapids.

I'm a wimp so I'd be content with just the middle leg but I'd be down for both legs if we want.  As I mentioned June 4th works the best for me so let me know if that works for you guys.  If we take the 3pm slot we could drive up on Saturday and since I'm not a morning person that's my preference.  I'd also be down for going to Chickamauga that Friday and doing either the 9:30 or 3pm slots.  If we do the 9:30 slot we have more time to do stuff on Sat and could maybe drive up to see Steve's place.

My vote:

  • Leg:  middle only
  • Date: June 4th
  • Time:  3pm  (or 9:30 if we decide to go to Steve's after).

I concur on all portions of the vote.

And if Steve is entertaining guests by then I'm down for the 9:30 slot

I'm good with the 9:30 trip.  You guys are welcome to come on up the house will be pretty empty but you can check it out.  Not sure if y'all are planning on spending the night on Saturday but there won't be much in the way of places to sleep so I'd recommend bringing sleeping bags.

Ok sweet 9:30 it is then.  They recommend making the reservation for everyone at the same time so email me your living social vouchers and I'll do that during lunch.

There are still 54 spots available so I don't think we'll have trouble with reservations.

Made the reservations today.  They honored the living social price for matt and rachel too (but she said it was 25 instead of 24 which is advertised on the site but whatev it's still a lot cheaper).  Plus there's a $2 per person fee so steve owes me $2 and matt and rachel owe me $54 (I'll add it to moneys).  Here's the reservation info:

  • Middle Ocoee
  • June 4th
  • 9:30

I'll forward the reservation email to you guys.  Game on!
