Oops, I was tinkering around in azure after a few months of not messing with it, and I forgot my admin password. I reset it, but that caused the app to not be able to login. Anyways, it's been resolved now.

So, I had created a new db to support the balance moneyz app, but I forgot to change the tier for the db, so it used up our $50 quota. The sad thing is I haven't even added any tables or data...Luckily it didn't happen until yesterday, so it was only down for a day. Anyhow, I've fixed the tier, so it shouldn't happen again, just need to be careful about what I add, because it can bring us down. We use roughly $36/month for 409, but the basic tier for a db only uses about $5, so we should be good.

Not that anyone reads these, but I accidentally updated something in the live db, which hosed it for a few days. It's been restored now.

If the stipend goes away, will your account smoothly transition to "you have to pay for this now"? Or is it possible they'd close it? That scenario feels unlikely but I'm rather risk averse when it comes to the possibility of losing this site & content.

Yeah it'll switch to a pay as you go. The average cost has been $41.20, with the majority of that being app services, coming in at $31.55. We can certainly find cheaper hosting for that. Anyways, I will take a backup soon.
I've been working on a refactor of the app that has a react front end and restful .net web api services. Similar db structure, but it's been refactored a little and uses ef core 10 instead of ef 6. That's 95% complete, but I need to remove redis, which costs about $15/month. I'm just using it to store refresh tokens, so I'll switch to using sql server cache and it'll only cost pennies. And just working on some bugs and new features.
