ok so i changed it since then here's the rundown:

0-90 sec: "Right Now!!1"
90 sec - 30 min: "X minutes ago"
30-60 min: "within the hour"
60 min - 24 hr: "X hour(s) ago"
24 hr - midnight of yesterday morning: "yesterday"
before yesterday - 1 week: "[day of week]"
> 1 week: "mm/dd/yy"

*edited to include the "yesterday" entry.. forgot it there for a sec*
