Facebook recently added a "places" feature that allows you to "check in" like 4square etc. If you don't want your current location broadcast by FB you have to be proactive about it (because of course this shit is enabled by default):How to disable Facebook Places

so the past two days my facebook page has decided without my permission to send special birthday cards to people who are having birthdays. anyone know anything about this? did i hit a button on accident that said "hey automatically send some birthday greetings to people for me"? it's not a terrible thing but i don't like that facebook is doing things without my permission. plus the general awkwardness because they have gotten sent to people I never talk to or keep up with. anyways anyone know of a way to turn it off?
