wanted to go use my laptop downstairs so i went to grab my wireless card but couldnt find it. luckily i had an old slower one lying around so i just grabbed that one. unfortunately i reinstalled windows since the last time i installed that card so it gave me the new hardware crap. no problem i still had the driver install file on my hd. installed it wireless program popped up saying connected at 100% yet there were no APs in the available AP list... odd...

ipconfig gives me garbage ok uninstall and go back upstairs to plug in and get the newest drivers off the web. but cant connect to the internet... ipconfig gives me a blank screen not even a device cannot be accessed message wtf?

and here's where the really weird shit starts

maybe ipconfig was hosed... so i wanted to replace ipconfig on the laptop with the ipconfig from desktop
so just get a floppy right?
doh desktop wont read the fucking floppy drive
gotta remote desktop to the crappy desktop to use that floppy drive
of course it didnt do anything anyway
then playing around on laptop i found out that installing the wireless card lets ipconfig work but just for that card it doesnt see the wired builtin card anymore
so uninstall the wireless again
still doesnt work
i know! i'll reinstall the drivers for the wired
problem is they're 4mb so wont fit on a floppy
good thing my mp3 player acts as a portable hd
go to hp.com to download drivers
firefox just sits there when click download now
try with IE
downloads to 20% then sits there
fuck
go back to remote desktop
success! downloads them just fine
plug in mp3 player
gives crap about being slow cause its only usb 1.1 as expected with the old computer
but drive doesnt show up in explorer at all!
WTF
plug back into big desktop then copy file from remote desktop hd to big desktop hd then to mp3 player
alright ready to go!
go to plug into laptop
look at screen
ITS CONNECTED TO THE FUCKING INTERNET NOW AND IPCONFIG WORKS FINE
