I think a more interesting line graph would be a correlation of when I am and am not in a relationship to the average number of beer bottles and kleenex balls in my trash can.

perhaps his girlfriend was a cesspool of infection which helped him slowly build up his immunity and now he's surprisingly lacking all those precious antibodies

I prefer to think that in his spare time he creates beautiful origami. However his work suffers without the inspiration of his relationship. And so dissatisfied with his imperfect creations he crumples them up into little balls and throws them away.
Also he's poor so he can't afford real origami paper.
