Club409 - New ads on Club409

noticed ads are back up was that a decision or did something happen? we're a few years away from when we started so we should be collecting a lot of new IP addresses like how when we first got started and we made like $30 in the first hour and i thought we were all about to retire all for making 409 money

Yeah I logged into the account and saw that $99.13 staring at me; I hoped we could generate 87 cents of traffic so I can finally get paid.

I came on today and saw "Currently logged in:" followed by pictures of several frontrunners in the Rupublican primary. A big change in demographics!

i'm all for keeping them up who knows maybe they accidentally put club409.com up during the superbowl halftime or something but can they stay on the left side of the page under the usefuls? sometimes content overflows on the right side and the ads cover it up

Anyone else notice significant lag on 409? I'm not sure if it's related to ads but I didn't know where else to post it. The "bugs" subforum only has a Closed Bugs list.

Anyways it takes 5-8 seconds for any page to load. In both FF8.0.1 and IE8. While it's loading I can bring up other sites just fine so I don't think it's PMC's internet.

The bugs forum doesn't have any open bugs so there aren't any threads. to make a new thread in there browse to the Bugs forum and click the familiar "Make a New Thread" link on the left side.

And yes it does seem a bit slower.. I'll turn off the ads and see if things improve.

Yeah the site is much more responsive now. I didn't notice the lag when you first added the ads so I'm not sure what changed between now and then. Despite the ads being obnixious I was willing to deal with them to help earn some moneys but if they're going to cause significant lag I vote to have them removed. Or added as a preference? "Ad-free club409 available now. Only $19.95 per year! Or click this check box." :)

edit2: FYI slight lag is still there but maybe I'm just aware of it now.

yeah i just checked the account and we officially made enough to push us over the $100 mark so i'm gonna get that check and leave them turned off.
